Our Football Lookbook- Can a Sport Themed Wedding be Tasteful?

Blue Moon you saw me standing alone, without a dream in my heart, without a love of my own. Blue Moon you know just what I was there for, you heard me saying a prayer for someone I really could care for.

When Pauline and Darren first told me they were having a Manchester City themed wedding it sounded like the stuff of nightmares. For one I am a die hard Red Manc so anything Blue related brings me out in a rash, but also a football themed wedding….really? Isn’t that going to be …..tacky?

Well I couldn’t have been more wrong. Their full wedding will feature on the blog soon but in the meantime if you are sports mad and want to incorporate that fanaticism into your wedding without it turning a bit theme park check out today’s look book.

Bridal Handbags – From Sparkly to Understated

So you have your dress, matching shoes and jewellery, makeup and hair is perfection, your dad has tears in his eyes as he sees his little girl in her finery for the first time. You go off to get married but have you thought about where you will store all the bits and pieces that all girls carry around with them? Lipstick, phone, tissues, at the very least.

A bridal handbag is usually an after thought or even non existent as bridesmaids are given the responsibility of carrying those essentials-but they don’t have storage facilities in these sleek gowns either. Well with the beauties below, a bridal handbag can be a statement piece in itself. It could be a dinky, subtle bag, or something with a wow factor, sleek and plain or frilly & over the top. There is a style out there to suit everyone.

Love this beautiful beaded bag from Catherine Mee. It’s like a little suitcase-very cute

    Wedding Themes – 2014 Trends

So you are planning a wedding this year. Why not make your wedding stand out by building it around a theme. Today we have a guest post from Traditons, who are guiding us through the top 5 2014 wedding theme trends and also giving us tips on how to achieve the look. So over to them for more…..

Congratulations, you are engaged! So you’ve told your nearest and dearest the happy new’s and its time to get planning your special day. With so many different ideas and possibilities you will find out there its important to finalise a theme for your wedding. A theme helps you keep to a specific colour palette and style, you may not be one for a uniform wedding and to be honest themes like that are a little bit old hat so why not go for something a little bit more eccentric like a rustic or vintage theme, allowing you get your creative juices going.

Trends and style go in and out of fashion so quickly that its great to keep on top of what is hot now. This is exactly what Traditions strive to achieve, we are also giving you ideas about the style of wedding dress that would suit a particular themed wedding, and showcasing the ‘razzle dazzle’ theme that is on trend this year.

We hope you find the inspiration you are looking for and enjoy your planning your wedding.

    VINTAGE

Massive throughout 2013, the vintage look will be hugely popular right through 2014 too. From lace and tulle, to English tea and retro designs. it’s the perfect theme if you want your wedding to be a classic affair.
